When did we become wedding industry besties?

2023 and we can foresee an extremely close and happy working relationship between us, since we share very similar values. We have been admiring you from afar (New Zealand literally) way before that, just to put it out there, lol.

Hera Couture ethos is about empowering women to express themselves for the most special day of their lives. We are passionate about dressing women of all shapes and sizes through timeless sophisticated designs, exquisite craftsmanship and to become a small part of the happiest day of every bride’s journey. At Hera, we celebrate the diversity and understand that every woman deserves to feel celebrated and beautiful.

Do you have any fashion or beauty rules?

Follow your heart. Do not get too hung up on trends. Wear a piece that makes you feel beautiful regardless of what others might think or advise otherwise. It is your look and feel and style on your wedding day and everyone might have an opinion around you which you should feel comfortable to take or reject. Choose a piece from a designer where it makes you feel elevated, confident and stunning – a piece that brings you joy.

What do you bring to a bride’s day that others cannot?

I love to instill confidence through our designs, expert craftsmanship and excellent service to elevate a bride’s wedding look by fully understanding her desires and body. We believe that true style stands the test of time. Our designs capture the essence of the contemporary woman while maintaining an everlasting elegance, with each gown meticulously constructed so it can be admired and cherished for generations to come. It brings me great joy to see our wedding gowns being worn again, reused and cherished for years to come. We bring an everlasting quality to our gowns from fabric to every stitch and love that pours into each gown.

You inspire us. What inspires you?

Thank you so much. A woman’s body inspires me. I draw inspiration in creating unique designs to suit different body shapes and sizes of a woman’s curvature. Our draping and cuts are on real everyday bodies, then meticulously and expertly translated into flat patterns of all sizes. Artistically, I draw inspiration from architecture, our magnificent nature around us and art of all forms. I love art museums, galleries and sculptures.

A tip for brides before, during and after their wedding?

I believe that real beauty really does come from within – it radiates from your self-confidence, self expression and self worth. Research on what you like and what pulls you in, choose a designer that suits your personal aesthetics. Have an open mind when you visit your bridal store/s. Make sure your gown is comfortable as well as looking amazing as quality fabrics and cut makes all the difference on your wedding day. Enjoy this wedding journey even when it gets stressful at times because you have already found your most important partner for life – he or her is what matters.
