Fantastically Fun Mallorca Wedding In Chosen By KYHA Gown
❤️ The TWC Effect – Our brides, their way ❤️
Tyanna and Glen were brought together by friends and celebrated their love partying the night away with them! The couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony full of fun and are here to share it all with us…
How did you meet?
Glen and I met what feels like ages ago through one of my best friends, it was only right she stood as the Maid of Honour on the day!
What I find most special about how we met is the timing. Glen and my MoH went to university together, and despite making trips to visit her and get to know some of her university friends over the years, Glen and I never crossed paths. It really shows that everything happens for a reason and we met back in Toronto after everyone moved back into the city after graduating.
Was it love at first sight?
Far from it! At the time I was actually gossiping about him and didn’t realise he was standing right beside me… I spent the rest of the party trying to redeem myself and convince him I was a nice person who didn’t talk about people I didn’t know…
Who proposed and how? Lovely details, please!
Glen planned the proposal, although it was a surprise, the first clue that something was happening was Glen telling me we had plans for a specific Sunday. Given I plan our social schedule it was very suspicious to hear we suddenly had something going on!
Right after getting ready and finishing breakfast, Glen turned to me and said “you look nice but something is missing”…a very strange thing coming from the guy with two looks; classic finance bro and finance bro light!
While I tried to process the confusion on what my outfit could be missing, Glen got on one knee and proposed… In proper me fashion my reaction was shock and I told him to “f-off” and then quickly recovered!
Did you have a theme for your wedding? How did it come about?
We had a Mallorca destination wedding. The venue and island was the perfect setting for a Spanish garden party inspired evening.
Location and how you found it?
We got married at Finca Son Togores. A pinch-me-perfect olive tree estate surrounded by mountains outside of Palma, Mallorca. After visiting the island on vacation we had such a good time, we knew it would be the perfect place to celebrate with friends and family. We searched ‘Mallorca wedding venues’ for fun and after a video call with the venue team we were sold.
How did you find The Wedding Club? Tell us about that moment when you found and chose your dress – how did it make you feel when you put it on for the first time?
My journey to The Wedding Club was quite unique! I found a dress on Pinterest I couldn’t stop thinking about and called around to a few boutiques in the hopes of trying it on. Surprisingly nowhere in London, Toronto (my home town) or any of the surrounding areas had a sample of the dress.
Convinced it wasn’t meant to be, I tried on other dresses but couldn’t get the one I found out of my head. The Wedding Club was truly incredible and arranged to ship a loaner in from the designer for a try-on.
Leading up to the fitting I was worried I had obsessed over a photo instead of focusing on all the dresses right in front of me. But the moment I put the dress on it felt meant to be! When I looked in the mirror all my worries melted away, it ticked every box I was looking for and then some!
Which designer did you wear?
I wore the Torrens dress from the Chosen by KYHA collection.
Where is the suit from? Why was it the perfect fit?
Glen wore a bespoke suit from Cad and the Dandy on Saville Row in London. Made from a mostly linen blend, it fit perfectly, and provided a nice mix of casual sophistication that perfectly matched the atmosphere.
Did you have speeches? Who performed them?
Yes! Both the Maid of Honour and Best Man gave speeches on the day. We each have known our MoH and BM since high school days, so their speeches covered a full gambit of stories from over the years.
Did you have a first dance? What song did you choose and why? How was the performance?
We actually skipped the first dance tradition and jumped right into the party with some of our favourite early 2000s throwbacks!
How was the party?
The party was incredible! We celebrated with a DJ and saxophone duo who had the perfect mix to keep us dancing all night.
Wedding planning advice for brides to be?
Your ~last minute will only take a few hours~ diy task is going to take longer than expected! Give yourself extra time so you don’t spend the last few days leading up to your wedding pulling all-nighters!
One moment you’ll never forget:
The champagne tower! Truly such a special moment looking across the terrace and popping a bottle to all our friends and family!
