Elegant Tuscany Wedding In Vivienne Westwood Gown
❤️ The TWC Effect – Our brides, their way ❤️
Teenage sweethearts Lisa & Roberto jetted off to the sight of their proposal, romantic Italy, to tie the knot alongside their nearest and dearest. We have all the lovely details here today!
How did you meet?
Through mutual friends when we were 18 at a local pub.
Was it love at first sight?
Not exactly, I’m very shy so Roberto had to do some chasing.
Who proposed and how? Lovely details, please!
We were on a trip to Lake Garda, Italy and took a day trip up Mount Baldo (where we had visited 8 years ago, Robbie later told me this was the moment he decided that he would propose here). Robbie was taking photos of me looking out at the lake and when I turned around he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
Did you have a theme for your wedding? How did it come about?
We knew we wanted to get married in Italy as it’s our favourite place! Our theme was romantic and elegant.
Location and how you found it?
Borgo Stomennano, Tuscany. I originally saw the venue on instagram and sent it to our wedding planner.
How did you find The Wedding Club? Tell us about that moment when you found and chose your dress – how did it make you feel when you put it on for the first time?
I came across The Wedding Club on instagram and knew I had to visit as I originally wanted to view the Muse by Berta range, that you stock. It was my first wedding dress shop and I explained the type of dress I was looking for – A-line, ethereal, romantic, lace/ floral and the consultant Jordan selected a few.
I tried them on and then she brought me the Vivienne Westwood Cocotte dress (completely different to what I had envisioned) and as she pulled it up I said “oh wow” and I knew it was the one. I walked out and my mum cried. I tried one a few more but I kept coming back to that dress!
Which designer did you wear?
Vivienne Westwood.
Where is the suit from? Why was it the perfect fit?
Moss Bros. Perfect linen suit for August in Italy.
Did you have speeches? Who performed them?
Yes – Groom, father of the bride and best man. Our very close friend Steve performed the ceremony for us, which was very special.
Did you have a first dance? What song did you choose and why? How was the performance?
Yes, we had a first dance, which I was very nervous about as I am not a natural dancer. Bon Jovi – Thank You For Loving Me. Roberto is a huge Bon Jovi fan and we actually had the string quartet play the instrumental version as I walked down the aisle.
How was the party?
It was great, the cocktails were flowing and people were dancing and we ended up all jumping in the pool at the end of the night! (Don’t worry, I changed out of my dress first!)
Wedding planning advice for brides to be?
Try to enjoy it, it was stressful at times but I actually miss it now. Take some time off planning if it feels like it’s getting too much.
One moment you’ll never forget:
Seeing each other as I walked down the aisle and a moment we had alone in between taking photos and walking out to dinner. The whole day was perfect 😍
