Fun & Love Filled Buckinghamshire Wedding In Zuhair Murad Gown
❤️ The TWC Effect – Our brides, their way ❤️
Kotryna and Angus found love in the DMs and spent the most gorgeous day celebrating that with their nearest and dearest. The pair were smitten from the start, with a love story so full of joy and happiness we can see why! Join us today for a look at their beautiful wedding day…
How did you meet?
We met in between the 2 lock downs over an instagram dm! The rest was history!
Was it love at first sight?
I would 1100% say so. Neither of us was looking for anything but within a month of meeting we were together and head over heels.
Who proposed and how? Lovely details, please!
Angus proposed! He had been planning the ring for the longest time. We spent a while shopping around together to make sure I knew the exact type of diamond that I wanted and then once we chose, he took over to decide on the size and design of the ring. I was itching in my boots and thought about getting engaged every single day, the suspense was killing me!
In December last year, we did 4 trips back to back and he proposed on the last one on the 19th December! We were in Dubai on a little pre Christmas break and he popped the question in a huge Christmas decoration under the stars.
He wrote me a love letter (which isn’t abnormal as I get one every single week) and at the end of the letter he proposed!
Did you have a theme for your wedding? How did it come about?
I wanted something super modern and slick. Men in black tie, slick stationary and white flowers with not too much green. The bridesmaids were in dusty pink dresses and everything was just magical – I got everything I wanted and more.
The vision for my evening party was an 80’s dance party and I went crazy with a custom monogrammed bar and stage, mirrors everywhere, and blue/silver/white balloons in the ceiling. The balloons had long silver tassels coming into the audience to make the dancing even more fun!
Location and how you found it?
Waddesdon Manor – The Dairy. It was totally meant to be as I saw it on Instagram with no tags and then fell upon the entrance when travelling to the gym in Oxford. Viewed it the next day and booked it immediately!
How did you find The Wedding Club? Tell us about that moment when you found and chose your dress – how did it make you feel when you put it on for the first time?
I was really dead set on a Berta dress and of course you guys are the only ones that stock them. I came in for my appointment and really didn’t like the style of them on me. As I was getting ready to leave the lady in the store pointed out a Zuhair Murad dress, an all lace number, and although I was reluctant to try it on (as it hadn’t been in my vision) I tried it and fell in love!
Because this was only my second dress store, I then went away and spent 2 months travelling around and trying to find something just like that Zuhair dress. I even went to Spain!!! After no real success I decided to return and try THE dress on one more time, and purchased it that day. It was just so magnificent, jaw dropping and lace is honestly one of a kind. Everyone at the wedding couldn’t stop gushing over the dress!
Which designer did you wear?
Zuhair Murad.
Where is the suit from? Why was it the perfect fit?
His suit was made by Charles Champbell Bespoke and it was just perfect. It fit like a glove! My favourite details were firstly the impeccable fit the tailored shirt gave and our initials on the cuffs – soo cute.
Did you have speeches? Who performed them?
We did indeed, we had the father of the groom, father of the bride, best man and of course my husband!
Did you have a first dance? What song did you choose and why? How was the performance?
We actually had 2 first dances. We had “Can I Call You Rose” by Thee Sacred Souls which was performed by our band and the amazing Ryan Shaw. This was in my big wedding dress which I then got changed out of to perform a choreographed second dance. The song was “Keep the Fire Burning” by Gwen McCrae. It went down a treat and was the perfect way to kick off the evening party!!
How was the party?
Incredible! I went for a totally different theme for the evening. I wanted everyone to let their hair down and dance the night away. We went from white flowers in the day to huge blue, silver and white balloons in the ceiling with silver tassels into the crowd to add a little bit of inner child fun. We also had a custom mirrored bar and stage made with our monogram. Totally amazing!!
Wedding planning advice for brides to be?
GET THAT WEDDING PLANNER ! If you’re debating one, do it. Mine was a god send and we wouldn’t have had the day that we did without her. It takes all the stress out of the month before the wedding and the day runs smoothly (even if it doesn’t – because you would never know)!
One moment you’ll never forget –
Those doors opening and seeing Angus at the end of the aisle, made better by my vision coming into reality with a long mirrored aisle and incredible florals.
